Heartland Voices to host fundraiser 'Easy as 1-2-3'
Heartland Voices continues its 18th season with their 10th annual gala.
This year's gala, "Easy As 1-2-3," celebrates some of music's greatest hits. And you guessed it, all songs are about numbers. Hits will include "Route 66", "One", "25 or 6 to 4", "Eight Days a Week", and "When I'm 64" just to name a few.
As always, Heartland Voices pays tribute to the imaginative creativity that has always been at the heart of musical theater. Complete with dance, lights, sound, and comedy, this toe-tapping show is sure to please audiences of all ages.
Members of this year's ensemble include Jessica Yeska, Marjorie Lattimore, Geri Larson, Patricia Buerger, Colleen Heffernan, Ken Kordick, Steve Hommowun, Chris Brittain, Santos Perez, and Larry Wild.
Heartland's artistic director is Dr. John Slawson. The gala is choreographed by Konnie Kay. Musical accompaniment will be provided by Dr. Paul Satre.
Join Heartland Voices for an evening of fun on Saturday, March 18, at the Kimball Street Theater at Elgin Academy, Kimball Street and Dundee Avenue in Elgin.
The event begins at 6 p.m. with hors d'oeuvres, a wine and beer bar, soft drinks, silent auction, and a raffle with the performance beginning at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets are $40 in advance and $50 at the door. Tickets can be reserved at www.heartlandvoices.org.
A special preview performance will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 17. Tickets for the preview performance are $20.
