Culver's of Schaumburg-Wise Rd. Partners with JDRF For Dine & Donate Fundraiser February 16

Culver's of Schaumburg, 1800 Wise Road, will partner with JDRF Illinois to host "The Family Mini Mix Up" dine and donate fundraising event from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16.

A local child living with Type 1 diabetes, along with family and friends who volunteer on behalf of Schaumburg-based "Sibling's Steppers for JDRF," will spearhead the event by serving food to guests who dine inside the restaurant, as well as those ordering at the drive through.

In addition to collecting donations from guests that evening, Culver's will offer specially priced $2 Mini Concrete Mixers all day Feb. 16, with $1 of each Mixer sold benefiting JDRF.

Since mid-January, guests who have dined at more than 30 Chicago-area Culver's have donated their spare change to JDRF, the leading global organization funding Type 1 diabetes research.

Celebrities, including the late Mary Tyler Moore and Chicago Cubs legend Ron Santo, both lived with Type 1 diabetes and helped raise millions of dollars for research into the disease that affects 1.25 million Americans, including 200,000 people under the age of 20.

"We're grateful to the entire Culver's of Schaumburg-Wise Road team for all of their support and encourage the community to dine with us on Feb. 16," said JDRF Illinois Executive Director Mimi Crabtree.

"Living with Type 1 diabetes is difficult, and even life threatening. Those affected serve as an inspiration by facing the disease's challenges with courage and perseverance, and they don't let it stand in the way of achieving their goals."
