Lake in the Hills village president facing domestic battery charges
Lake in the Hills Village President Paul Mulcahy was free on bail Tuesday following a Sunday morning arrest on charges of domestic battery.
According to McHenry County jail records, Mulcahy, 64, was arrested at 1:42 a.m. Sunday and posted $200 bail at 9:40 a.m. Monday.
Records indicate Mulcahy was in court Monday morning and charged with misdemeanor domestic battery. His next court date is scheduled for 9 a.m. Nov. 14.
Neither Lake in the Hills police nor McHenry County sheriff's officials immediately returned calls seeking information regarding the charges.
Mulcahy and several village trustees also did not return calls Tuesday morning.
Trustee Paula Yensen declined to comment, saying only that the village board was scheduled to meet Tuesday evening.
The issue was not discussed at Tuesday's meeting, Trustee Ray Bogdanowski said.
