NCH's breast health education events: Circle of Strength Tea Talks

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (October 3, 2016) - In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, Northwest Community Healthcare (NCH) is hosting two breast health education events.

The Circle of Strength Tea Talks are scheduled at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, October 6, and at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, October 27, at the NCH Breast Center, 1410 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights.

Attendees will learn about NCH's new 3D digital breast tomography (DBT) technology that combines tomography and advanced reconstruction algorithms to produce images which improve cancer detection and overall mammography accuracy.

With the new DBT technology, NCH offers the most comprehensive 3D technology in the area, including Automated Breast Ultrasound Screening, or ABUS, for patients with dense breasts. DBT is a standard screening exam that only takes a few minutes longer than the traditional mammography screenings. Patients do not need to undergo any additional preparation for the DBT exam and can wait for their results as they have previously through NCH's Results by Request program.

Patients can schedule 3D DBT screening exams by calling 847-618-3700. DBT screening exams are available at each of NCH's four breast imaging locations:

• Busse Center for Specialty Medicine (hospital campus) - 880 W. Central Road, Arlington Heights

• NCH Breast Center - 1410 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights

• NCH Immediate Care - 15 S. McHenry Road, Buffalo Grove

• NCH Immediate Care - 519 S. Roselle Road, Schaumburg

Register online or call 844-NCH HEALTH to attend NCH's Circle of Strength Tea Talks.
