Seattle Seahawks Preview Capsule
SEATTLE SEAHAWKS (11-7)
New faces: G Germain Ifedi, T J'Marcus Webb, T Bradley Sowell, DT Jarran Reed, rookie RBs Alex Collins and C.J. Prosise.
Key losses: RB Marshawn Lynch, T Russell Okung, LB Bruce Irvin, G J.R. Sweezy, DT Brandon Mebane.
Strengths: Where to begin. Seahawks had toughest defense to score against for four straight seasons and have most key parts healthy, including CB Richard Sherman, FS Earl Thomas and LB Bobby Wagner. Quarterback Russell Wilson evolved as passer late last season thanks to quick passing game, and WR Doug Baldwin tied for NFL lead with 14 touchdown catches. Seahawks are a favorite in NFC.
Weaknesses: Offensive line has become yearly position group to watch and 2016 is no different. Seattle appears set on interior, but tackles will be major concern until they prove able to adequately protect Wilson.
Fantasy Players To Watch: Wilson, WR Tyler Lockett, Baldwin, RB Thomas Rawls.
Expectations: Anything less than deep playoff run will be considered disappointment. Seattle believes it's back to talent depth and attitude that created Super Bowl winner in 2013 season. Seattle must take advantage of favorable early schedule because second half of season features road games at New England and Green Bay, home games against Carolina and Arizona.
