TheosoFEST offers actvities for the whole family

TheosoFEST, an annual mind-body-spirit festival for the whole family, takes place 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, at the Theosophical Society in America, 1926 N. Main St., Wheaton.

The free festival includes vegetarian food, more than 150 holistic vendors, a Kids' Korner, and hands-on demonstrations in tai chi, yoga and other practices. The event also includes talks on meditation, Buddhism, holistic healing and spirituality.

New this year, the event will open with an interfaith prayer session: Prayers from World Traditions.

The annual festival attracts more than 2,000 people to the Theosophical Society's 40 acres of grounds that include a world-class library, the Quest Book Shop, an outdoor labyrinth and the Buddha Meditation Garden.

Parking on the grounds is $5 per vehicle. Hybrid cars and bicycles can park for free.
