Something old, something new at Fox Lake festival
This weekend featured something old and something new in Fox Lake.
Fox Lake's 19th annual Cardboard Race was part of the first Land & Lake Days festival in the village.
The event kicked off Friday at Lakefront Park with food, drinks, a talent show and a movie by the lake. Saturday and Sunday included a new body art element, with local tattoo, henna and body art professionals showcasing their craft.
The annual cardboard regatta started with boat building at 8 a.m., followed by the races at noon. Awards were given out for various categories, including Best of Show, and Fastest Sinking in each category.
A boat and car show rounded out the three-day event.
