New care center opens in Vernon Hills
VERNON HILLS - Northwestern Medicine has opened a new immediate care center that is available 365 days a year at the northwest corner of Milwaukee Avenue and Townline Road in Vernon Hills.
The center, at 870 N. Milwaukee Ave., is staffed by licensed physicians and emergency medical technicians trained to evaluate and treat a variety of medical conditions in both adults and children over the age of 6 weeks. All patients are seen by a physician, providing patients the opportunity to be treated during the hours their regular primary care physician's office may be closed. The Vernon Hills center is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week and requires no appointment.
Some of the more common conditions treated at immediate care centers include flu, fever, and colds; sinus infections and urinary tract infections; strains and sprains; poison ivy, animal and bug bites; and rashes and sunburns.
The center also offers primary care and imaging services Monday through Saturday, and on-site breast imaging and mammography with tomosynthesis, computer tomography, X-Ray, magnetic resonance imaging ultrasound and more.
