Naperville Little League City Championships on Channel 17
For hundreds of Little League baseball players, the entire summer has led to a single, dusty afternoon on the ballfield. Naperville's best 9-10 year-old (Supreme League) and 11-12 year-old (Major League) ball players will come up to bat in the city-wide championships this Saturday, June 25 at Nike Park.
For the ninth year in a row, NCTV17's production crew will capture the action. Supreme League teams Correctional News and Dick's Sporting Goods will face each other at the mound, with Judd Kendall VFW and Jim Wagner Plumbing competing for the Major League title.
Through our lenses, each and every player will become a local TV star. Every curveball soaring through the strike zone, every bold dash to a stolen base, and every homerun crashing past left field will come to life on your TV screen.
NCTV17 Sports Director Justin Cornwell looks forward to the show every year.
"It's gratifying to take part in an event that brings so much excitement to the members of the community," Cornwell said. "The players are thrilled when their coaches let them know they are going to be on TV for the championship. Parents and family members are so grateful to have a chance to see their kids' championship moment capture in a full production."
If you cannot cheer from Nike Park's bleachers or if you simply want to relive that incredible double play, NCTV17 has you covered. You can watch the Major League Championship Game on Sunday, June 26 at 7 pm and the Supreme League Championship Game on Monday, June 27 at 7 pm.
