Physical therapy student completes internship at Cary Physical Therapy

Physical therapy student Kevin McGuire, recent graduate from Northern Illinois University has successfully completed an eight-week internship at Cary Physical Therapy. This instruction provides physical therapy interns with "one on one" mentoring and instruction in the practical application of physical therapy skills and training. Programs in physical therapy take 7 years leading to a graduate degree as a doctor of physical therapy.

Cary Physical Therapy currently partners with four universities in Illinois to allow PT students to gain experience in private practice physical therapy.

"Because of our commitment to the profession as well as our community, we continue to grow and develop our clinical education program for future physical therapists" says Dianna Noonan, a Cary physical therapist who mentored Kevin during his eight-week internship. "Whether the patient has difficulty because of injury or disease, as physical therapists, our goal is to foster the patient's return to maximal function by promoting the patient's ability to move, reducing pain, restoring function and preventing disability."

After fully completing his professional education and internship here at Cary Physical Therapy, Kevin has demonstrated that he is knowledgeable, astute and caring. We wish him the very best.
