Elgin Master Chorale wraps up season with Vivaldi April 17

The Elgin Master Chorale, accompanied by the Elgin Symphony Orchestra, will perform two timeless choral masterworks - Antonio Vivaldi's "Gloria" and Michael Haydn's "Requiem" - in "Spring Stirrings" at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, April 17, in Elgin Community College's Blizzard Theater, 1700 Spartan Drive.

Elgin Master Chorale Music Director Andrew Lewis will conduct the final concert of the season.

Vivaldi's "Gloria" is among most uplifting and beloved works of the choral repertoire, while the Haydn "Requiem" is a hidden gem that delighted a young Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, who is said to have been in the audience for one of its first performances.

Tickets are $25 or $20 for students or seniors.
