Consumers Cooperative Association Announces Winners of Six $2,000.00 Scholarships For Lake County Area Students

Waukegan, IL, March 29, 2016: Consumers Cooperative Association (CCA), the sponsor of Consumers Credit Union (CCU, $915 Million, Waukegan, IL) awarded eight (8) $2,000.00 scholarships at their recently held 86th Annual Meeting on March 23. The recipients, local area high school seniors, are able to use the scholarship at the college or university of their choice.

"The ability to assist our youth in attending the collage of their choice through our scholarship program is a point of great joy and pride for the Association," noted Julian Penny, President of Consumers Cooperative Association. "We believe it is vital to support our young people and encourage them to receive a higher education. Our hope is that the scholarships help our winners achieve their dreams as they transition away from high school to become the leaders of tomorrow. We look forward to seeing the great things they're sure to accomplish."

The 2016 Scholarship winners include (shown in enclosed photo, pictured left to right) Lhariferl Bansil, Waukegan High School; Josiah Cabuay, Warren Township High School; Jacob Cloe, Antioch Community High School; Kristopher Laffredi, Zion Benton Township High School; Alyssa Stanley, Christian Life School. Also receiving scholarships but not pictured are Jacob Tolan, McHenry West High School; Rhianna Franz, Vineyard Academy; Gabriela Varela, Cristo Ray St. Martin College Prep.
