Failed to mention group's origins
Larycia Hawkins made headlines by wearing a hijab in solidarity with Muslim women. She also claimed that Muslims worship the same God that Christians do, a doctrine which Wheaton College, her former employer, rejects.
She spoke recently at an event organized by DuPage United and garnered yet attention from the Daily Herald on Page 3, the second most important page in a newspaper.
As a conservative guy, I too stand with Muslim women who cover up in defiance of today's pornographic culture. In fact, I do not think that Hawkins went far enough. She should have put on a burqa. That would have shown real courage and leadership.
However, I do object to the fact that Wheaton College has to endure insults and intimidation, because it teaches doctrines based on the Bible. The way the Daily Herald and DuPage United play it, the only valid Christianity is whatever they believe at this moment. And heaven help the institution that does not go along.
Who is DuPage United anyway? Where did it get the moral authority to pontificate on anything? It works as an arm of the Democratic Party. It is a Saul Alinsky organization created in the 1990s by the Chicago Metropolitan Sponsors. I attended some of the organizing meetings. One of their big goals at the time was socialized medicine - yeah, the Obamacare disaster.
Their trick is to organize a group of diverse religious congregations under the guise of diversity and create a recruitment and money laundering mechanism for the Democratic Party.
I am disappointed that the Daily Herald failed to inform us about this in its story.
