Type to serve McHenry Co. well

Last week a candidate for McHenry County Board in District 5 visited my house. His name is Joe Calomino.

First, let me say that I was surprised to see a candidate knocking on my door asking for support. I was extremely impressed with Mr. Calomino's understanding of my concerns. I was more impressed with Mr. Calomino's background.

Of his many accomplishments, he was the state director of a national government watchdog organization that exposed millions of dollars of waste, fraud and abuse in the state's budget. He passed the first ever on-line transparency bill in the state of Illinois. And he trained citizens to hold elected officials accountable for how they spend our tax dollars.

What surprised more was that Mr. Calomino has never held an elected office yet he has worked for more than 22 years fighting on behalf of taxpayers. There is no doubt in my mind that Mr. Calomino will be the type of leader that serves McHenry County well. He deserves your vote in the McHenry County Board District 5 race.
