Do You Pay it Forward Whenever You Can? Join C.A.T.I.F.

C.A.T.I.F. [Celebrating All That Is Feminine] is 501 (c)(3) non-profit that will be hosting its 7th annual Pay it Forward fundraiser on Friday, March 4, 2016 at The Drink in Schaumburg. Area residents are invited to attend, and help fund other non-profits who assist women and children in crisis.

The C.A.T.I.F. board of directors is made up of professional women who work tirelessly each year to make a difference in the lives of women and children experiencing their darkest hours.

The non-profit's mantra is to pay it forward whenever you can. The organization was founded in 2009 by Kara Cermak, an established business woman who has owned a property management company for more than 20 years in the northwest suburbs of Chicago.

"C.A.T.I.F. was created to provide opportunities for everyone to pay it forward when possible; you can attend one of our events, volunteer, donate a raffle prize or even purchase a sponsorship - any of these efforts help to fund non-profits that are assisting women and children in crisis," Cermak said.

Over the last seven years, C.A.T.I.F. has raised more than $100,000 from a purely grassroots level for non-profits such as WINGS (Women in Need Growing Stronger), Jesse Brown VA Medical Center women's programs, ROLE (Reaching Out Lifting to Excellence), Home of the Sparrow, Fellowship Housing and countless others.

There will be two beneficiaries for the upcoming Pay it Forward fundraiser.

The first is Arts Refreshing the Soul, a non-profit that promotes the well-being and facilities the recovery of women and children (up to 6 years of age) who are victims of domestic abuse, poverty and homelessness through creative arts programs.

Kappa Kappa Gamma Girls' Academy also will benefit from the fundraiser, and is an organization that assists at-risk teenagers who receive mentoring and leadership guidance through weekend retreats.
