"This year there were a record number of students auditioning," Schubert said. " Approximately 28 students competed. The musicianship was remarkable." The DuPage Symphony promotes student musicians throughout the year, not only through this competition but also through an internship program, where high school students rehearse and perform a concert with the orchestra. The orchestra is currently looking for high school interns for the 2016-2017 season. It is the orchestra's mission to bring classical music to the community and to mentor and encourage young musicians.
