Get the Led Out celebrates the music of Led Zeppelin March 3

Get the Led Out will perform the music of Led Zeppelin live in concert at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 3, at the Elgin Community College Arts Center's Blizzard Theatre, 1700 Spartan Drive, Elgin.

GTLO's six veteran musicians - Paul Sinclair (lead vocals, harmonica), Paul Hammond (guitar, mandolin, theremin), Jimmy Marchiano (guitar, vocals), Andrew Lipke (keyboards, guitar, vocals, percussion), Adam Ferraioli (drums, percussion), and Phil D'Agostino (bass) - use their multi-instrumental talents to re-create the English rock band's songs in all their depth and glory with the studio overdubs that Zeppelin themselves never performed. If there were three guitars on the album, GTLO delivers three guitarists on stage. No wigs or fake English accents, the Philadelphia-based group focuses on performing a high energy Zeppelin concert with accuracy, honesty, and heart-thumping intensity.

GTLO's approach to performing Led Zeppelin's catalog is not unlike a classical performance. "Led Zeppelin are sort of the classical composers of the rock era," says lead vocalist Paul Sinclair. "I believe 100 years from now they will be looked at as the Bach or Beethoven of our time. As cliché as it sounds, their music is timeless."

Dubbed by the media as "The American Led Zeppelin," Get The Led Out offers a strong focus on Led Zeppelin's early years and touch on the deeper cuts that were seldom, if ever heard in concert by Led Zeppelin. GTLO's concerts also include a special "acoustic set" that features Zeppelin favorites "Tangerine" as well as the "Battle of Evermore" performed in its original instrumentation with guest singer Diana DeSantis.

Tickets to Get the Led Out are $36. Tickets are available online at tickets.elgin.edu or at the ECC Arts Center box office. Box office hours are noon to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and noon to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday. To purchase tickets by phone, call (847) 622-0300. All major credit cards are accepted.
