Tough for private schools to survive
Today's private schools can market themselves to survive all they want, however if the State of Illinois does not reduce its property taxes nothing will help. Illinois has the second highest property taxes in the U.S. and only seven states in the U.S. use property tax money mainly for schools and pensions.
Taxes in Illinois are out of sight. Property taxes in illinois can cost more in a payment than the mortgage payment. Even if morgtages were 1 percent, families cannot afford private schools. It takes two incomes to support a family household today and to pay for private education then college is next to impossible.
Public schools are more full today. School districts in illinois can name anything they want in a school budget and most likely get it. Property taxes continue to rise with no stopping it. Its ridiculous. Families trying incorporate religion in their families through school nowadays is proving to be very difficult.
Things need to change which they won't with the pension mess. Really too bad for the private schools to survive; no fund raiser is going to help unless taxes in illinois get better which will not happen. Such a sad thing for society today. This state will never change.
