Pihos not what COD board needs now

What the College of DuPage needs now to restore public confidence is openness.

The Daily Herald called for the appointment of Sandra Pihos to fill the tie-breaking vacancy on the COD Board.

That is puzzling because one of her final acts in the Illinois legislature was to cross party lines and provide one of the four critical votes to override the governor's veto of legislation to weaken the Freedom of Information Act.

Those who favor weakening public access to public information are not who the public needs setting COD policy now.
