Even as they watched the bus they had been traveling in burst into flames, Wheaton Warrenville South High School's Espirit Show Choir singers knew the show had to go on. "The thought of just turning around and going home didn't even occur to me because I know my students, and I knew if I asked any one of them if they wanted to go home they would have said no way," show choir director Kelsey Nichols said. Former DuPage forest IT manager gets jail, probation
A DuPage County judge said Tuesday he wanted to send a message to other government employees as he sentenced former forest preserve district information technology manager David Tepper to time in jail. Tepper, convicted in November of 26 charges of illegally participating in contracts and one count of official misconduct, was sentenced to 180 days in jail, given two years' probation and ordered to pay $83,000 in fines. Police searching for two men who robbed Waukegan gas station
Waukegan police are searching for two men who robbed the Mobil gas station at 1100 Belvidere Road Monday evening. According to a news release issued by police Tuesday afternoon, the two men entered the gas station, pulled out handguns and took cash and cigarettes. The men also robbed a customer who happened to be in the store. Full story.
Bank robber strikes in Arlington Heights
The FBI and Arlington Heights police are searching for a man who robbed the TCF Bank inside the Jewel-Osco at 1860 S. Arlington Heights Road Tuesday morning. Police Cmdr. Nathan Hayes said the man approached the bank counter about 11:25 a.m., implied he had a weapon and demanded money. Full story.
