Police searching for two men who robbed Waukegan gas station

Waukegan police are searching for two men who robbed the Mobil gas station at 1100 Belvidere Road Monday evening.

According to a news release issued by police Tuesday afternoon, the two men entered the gas station, pulled out handguns and took cash and cigarettes. The men also took money from a customer who happened to be in the store. Police are not releasing the amount of cash the thieves got away with.

According to police, one of the robbers is a black man who is around 5 feet 10 inches tall with a thin build. During the robbery the man wore a black jacket with red sleeves, jeans and a white mask.

The other thief is a white man who is around 5 feet 8 inches tall with a medium build. That man wore a gray sweatshirt with “ECKO” printed on it in white letters, jeans and a black mask.
