Where would salutes be if we had a draft?

On Veteran's Day, I wore my Air Force hat to the health club and did my full three hour work-out. Not bad for a guy almost 70.

Then I listened about all the salutes to veterans which brought up a lot of bad memories from my days during the Vietnam War, i.e. couldn't wear your uniform home because some hippie might spit on you.

Never one for sour grapes but let me say it again. Where would all these salutes be if there was still a draft? I volunteered to go back in '65 and was just a bit insulted when one of my classmates at our 50th Reunion made reference to how we all stood tall and said, "Hell No, We Won't Go." Sorry, but some of us did go, doing our duty to our country. We came back and never asked for anything but a chance to have a job and support our family.
