Fire causes extensive damage to Island Lake home

A Friday afternoon fire caused about $100,000 damage at an Island Lake home, officials said.

Wauconda Fire District crews were called about 1:35 p.m. to the home on the 3600 block of Lakeview Drive, where they found fire coming from several windows, according a news release. The fire was under control in about 30 minutes; no injuries were reported, and the cause is under investigation.

The Wauconda Fire District was assisted by crews from Cary, Lake Zurich, and Nunda.
