National Library Bookmobile and Outreach Conference to be held in St. Charles

Two hundred and fifty librarians from all across the United States will attend the annual National Conference of the Association of Bookmobile and Outreach Services conference at Pheasant Run Resort in St. Charles Oct. 14-16.

St. Charles Public Library District Director Pam Leffler and Outreach Services Librarian David Kelsey will open the conference Wednesday morning.

The keynote speaker will be Mary Beth Riedner, chairwoman of the American Library Association's Alzheimer's & Related Dementias Interest Group.

"It is quite an honor for the St. Charles Public Library District and our Outreach Services department to be involved in a national library conference," Kelsey states. "We hope the conference increases awareness and emphasizes the importance of outreach and homebound service in our local community."

Marianne Thompson, vice president of ABOS and outreach services manager at Fountaindale Public Library, shares that "Outreach services comes in all shapes and sizes. You'll find something that will inspire, encourage and invigorate you at the 2015 conference!"

The Association of Bookmobile and Outreach Services is a 501(c)(3) organization.
