Water Street Studios to celebrate sixth anniversary show
Continuing to showcase innovative art, Water Street Studios in Batavia celebrates its sixth anniversary with a special show curated by internationally renowned gallery founder Aron Packer.
The sixth anniversary show opens 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, at 160 S. Water St. in Batavia, with Packer announcing the best in show at 7 p.m.
Packer selected 28 works from over 200 submissions. A wide variety of media are represented. Packer has developed over 200 shows in the Chicago area in his 20 years on the Chicago art scene. He is a private art dealer through Packer Schopf Gallery. With a focused, yet offbeat vision, his shows are always anticipated in the Chicago art scene.
Packer joins an esteemed list of guest curators and jurors at Water Street Studios since 2009.
The list includes Hennie Reynders, professor at the School of the Art Institute, Frank Marugeri, of Redmoon Theater, Tempestt Hazel, of Arts + Public Life, Monique Meloche, of the Monique Meloche Gallery, Staci Boris of the Elmhurst Art Museum, and Sergio Gomez, artist, gallery owner and gallery director of the Zhou B Art Center.
Water Street Studios is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts organization founded to advance art education and appreciation by developing the promotion of fine arts in Batavia and neighboring communities.
