NCH Farmer's Market features locally grown tasty produce
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (July 28, 2015) - It's that time of year where you can bring food from the field right to your fork, and Northwest Community Healthcare (NCH) is making it easier to find fresh produce by hosting several free farmer's markets at the Arlington Heights hospital.
The NCH Farmer's Market is scheduled rain or shine from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 30, Thursday, August 27, and Thursday, September 24. The markets are open to the public and feature locally grown produce, local cheeses, fresh-baked goods and handcrafted chocolate.
NCH Resident Executive Chef Rena Parks also will offer a cooking class at noon on each of the days of the Farmer's Market at the hospital's south pavilion where she will give attendees some tips on how to create healthy meals with the produce. NCH dietitians also will be on hand to answer nutrition-related questions and provide healthy eating habits.
