Learn about wildlife in 'Junior Rehab Series'

If your child has ever wondered about wildlife rehabilitation, consider signing up for the "Junior Rehab Series," an informative summer program at the Fox Valley Wildlife Center in Elburn.

Utilizing hands-on activities, videos and crafts, each week will feature an in-depth look at an animal grouping. Students will learn about classification, habitats, common injuries, how they are treated and more.

Sign up for the whole series or just register for the child's favorite animal. Cost is $20 per child per class or $90 for the series.

The first lesson will be mammals, followed by songbirds, birds of prey, waterfowl and game birds and amphibians and reptiles. Register by calling (630) 365-3800 or emailing info@foxvalleywildlife.org.

The next session will be 10 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesdays, July 14-Aug. 11, for kindergarten to second grade; Thursdays, July 16-Aug. 13, for third- to fifth-graders; and Fridays, July 17-Aug. 14, for sixth- to eighth-graders.
