Welcome to the reimagined DailyHerald.com

Introducing a web design that treats your PC, phone and tablet like equals

We live in a fast-paced world, and for all the good that the Digital Age offers, in many ways it has made life more hectic rather than less.

That's one complaint we hear over and over again: The world is so full of information that it seems to be flying at us from every direction, that it's so chaotic that no one can keep up.

Today, we're launching a reimagined dailyherald.com, and relief from the dizziness is at the forefront of the improvements we've tried to make. Our development team, led by digital managers Philippe Hall and Mark Stallings, has worked hard to create an easy-to-use site that gives you peace from distractions.

At the same time, the team focused on making the design respond to the device that displays it so that it's equally readable on all of them.

I'm most enthusiastic about what a difference it has made for smart phone reading. Bookmark dailyherald.com on your iPhone or Android phone and you have the same window into the suburbs' top information source that you do on your desktop. With images and stories that are easy on the eye and easy to share.

The same is true for your iPad or Android tablet. The new site is as clean and quick to load on those devices as it is on your PC.

The new design also gives us a chance to offer you more video and more photo galleries. Every story provides suggestions of related stories that might interest you. The design makes it easy to share stories and photos from any device. Commenting also is available on all of them.

All that, and a little peace from the chaos too.

Any change takes getting used to. This one may take some of that too. But we hope you like the new dailyherald.com. We think you will.

As always, thanks for reading.
