Believe Project: $100 to someone who can't afford dental work

Today's winner of a $100 bill through the Believe Project is Karen Deback of Elgin.

Here is an excerpt of her pitch:

"I would give the $100 to my Dentist, Dr. Paul Engen, and ask that the amount be applied to a patient who may not have the resources to pay their bill or to a patient with special needs. This payment toward their outstanding bill will bring some relief from a possible stressful situation and brighten their smile and their day. Good dental health leads to a good quality of life, which is something everyone should experience."

• The Believe Project will mail a $100 bill each day to someone with a good idea for how to use it to do a good deed for someone else. Email us your pitch of 100 words or fewer (include your name, address and hometown) to specialevents@dailyherald.com.
