Believe Project: $100 to a friend whose family is struggling

Today's winner of a $100 bill through the Believe Project is Josh McFadden of Elgin.

Here is an excerpt of his pitch:

"Hello, I'm a junior in high school. In my school I have a best friend who I've known for years. She was one of my first friends when I moved here from Ohio. She is the strongest person I know, but her family of five kids has a lot of struggles. One is unchangeable. They have a boy who has a genetic disease that leads to early death. The life expectancy is 14-18 years. Her parents love their children. Can you please consider my friend for this donation? God bless you.

• The Believe Project will mail a $100 bill each day to someone with a good idea for how to use it to do a good deed for someone else. Email us your pitch of 100 words or fewer (include your name, address and hometown) to specialevents@dailyherald.com.
