Two charged in Barrington church break-in

Two men who police say attempted to break into a safe at a Barrington church Sunday have been charged with felony burglary to a place of worship.

Barrington police officers responded to a call of a burglary about 4:20 p.m. Sunday at St. Anne Catholic Church, police said in a news release.

When police arrived, they discovered two men at the scene: Steven Olcikas, 36, of Island Lake and John Ference, 38, of McHenry, according to the news release Bail was set at 100,000 for each on Tuesday in Lake County.
