The Des Plaines Park District and the Forest Knights Chess Club host Tournament

The annual chess tournament sponsored by the Des Plaines Park District and the Forest Knights Chess Club was held on Saturday, November 8 at Prairie Lakes Community Center. This was a no-elimination style of play where everyone participates in all five rounds known as Swiss-style competition. There were two divisions of play, a rated section, where players are paired by USCF rating using Swiss-style pairing. The non-rated section pairs players by grade and after the first round, pairings are made with players of similar won-loss records. Trophies were given to the top finishers in each section.
