Schaumburg Township District Library Receives Five-Star Rating

The Schaumburg Township District Library is once again the recipient of a Five-Star Rating in the 2014 Library Journal (LJ) Index of Public Library Service, according to Library Executive Director Stephanie Sarnoff.

"Service excellence is the hallmark of the Schaumburg Township District Library," Sarnoff said. "It is a high honor, indeed, to be recognized as a leader among public libraries nationwide. I thank our supportive community, talented staff, and dedicated trustees for the success we achieve year after year."

The LJ Index is a national rating system designed to recognize and promote America's public libraries, to help improve the pool of nationally collected library statistics, and to encourage library self-evaluation.Scores are based on library visits, circulation, program attendance and public Internet computer use.

Sarnoff cited the variety of children's programs, Teen Place, citizenship ceremonies, computer classes, and adult programming targeting personal finances, the Affordable Care Act, travel, health, cooking and more as just some of the reasons for the prestigious rating.
