Metra trains to Western suburbs delayed

Metra trains traveling to Geneva, West Chicago, La Fox, and Elburn are operating approximately 15-60 minutes behind schedule because of a collision earlier in the city, Metra is reporting.

Metra cited "an earlier grade crossing incident involving train #45." The Chicago Tribune reported the train struck a semitrailer truck in the West Garfield Park neighborhood just before 5 p.m.

The accident happened at Kinzie Street and Kilbourn Avenue, officials told the Tribune. No injuries were reported.
