Renz Center to host "Epicurean Delight" fundraiser

In celebrating 53 years of community service, Renz Addiction Counseling Center is hosting its seventh annual "Epicurean Delight" fundraiser from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at Max McGraw Wildlife in East Dundee.

Community residents are invited to attend and enjoy such gourmet fare as almond crusted duck salad with blackberry dressing, smoked salmon, pheasant kabobs, sesame chicken and an assortment of vegetarian canapé among other appetizers and desserts by McGraw's top culinary chef.

Max McGraw Wildlife Foundation sits on 1,200 acres of picturesque hardwoods, prairies, lakes, and streams. "Epicurean Delight" attendees will have the unique opportunity to enjoy this members-only facility at the peak of fall foliage while savoring fine culinary cuisine in the facility's recently renovated Lodge.

Tickets to Epicurean Delight are $80 per person, and all proceeds benefit Renz Addiction Counseling Center's clinical and prevention programs. A group discount is available with purchases of three or more event tickets. For tickets, visit www.renzcenter.org.

"Substance abuse is related to soaring healthcare costs, homelessness, criminal activity, and domestic disputes … it also has a dramatic effect on the children of our community," said Renz Center's board president Brian Monson. "This fundraiser is important because it directly supports someone in treatment while at the same time makes an impact on the safety and wellness of our community."

An iPad Air, Walt Disney World tickets, restaurant gift certificates and more are just some of the items to be raffled off at this year's fundraiser. Community residents are invited to participate in advanced raffle sales; attendance at the dinner is not necessary to win. Raffle tickets are $10, five for $45, 10 for $80 or 13 for $100.

To enter the raffle or purchase "Epicurean Delight" tickets, please send your name, address, and check made payable to Renz Center, Attn. Deb Howe, One American Way, Elgin, IL 60120. Raffles and tickets can also be charged through credit card by calling (847) 742-3545 ext. 236, or online at www.RenzCenter.org.

Top event sponsors include Advocate Sherman Hospital, Tighe, Kress & Orr, American Chartered Bank and First Community Bank. Renz Center is seeking additional sponsors who wish to make a difference in our community by providing a monetary or raffle basket donation.
