4th Annual Family Picnic in Downtown Palatine Coming Up

Palatine-based charity C.A.T.I.F. [Celebrating All That Is Feminine] will host its 4th Annual Block Party: Family Picnic, Rib & Chicken Cook-Off on Sunday, September 14 on Station Street in front of Lamplighter Inn Tavern and Grill, 60 N. Bothwell Street, Palatine.

The event will benefit the Palatine Opportunity Center, (POC),"the only organization in the Palatine area to focus on empowering low-income, disadvantaged people through education, health, and family programs," according to C.A.T.I.F.'s website.

The family fun will include the cook-off where area grillers will compete for a $250 prize. There also will be a bouncy house, and dunk tank, along with games and entertainment for the kiddies. The band Unconstitutional will perform alive, with an appearance from Bag O Jammers.

Admission is FREE and open to the public; food and game tickets can be purchased 1 for $1 or 25 for $20.

C.A.T.I.F. is a 501(c(3)whose mission is to support, empower and encourage women and children experiencing crisis in the Chicagoland area. Two large fundraisers are held each year to raise money for different charities whose mission are in line with C.A.T.I.F.'s.
