Healthy Lombard NEEDS Your Vote!
Healthy Lombard has already been chosen as a winner of a Health Mart Pharmacy $1000 grant. Now this village-wide imitative, formed in 2009 to address the epidemic of Childhood Obesity and promote a healthy lifestyle for everyone, needs your vote to expand this to a $30,000 grant!
Healthy Lombard is one of 15 organizations that have been selected nationwide to participate. To advance to Round Two, which narrows the number to ten, individuals, are asked to go to www.healthmartcommunity.com and cast your vote for Jay Wojcik and Healthy Lombard.
The deadline for the first round of voting in Health Mart's Champions of Care Challenge is midnight on Sunday, March 23. You can vote every day until this first round of the contest closes. If an individual has more than one email (home, work, etc.) he/she can cast votes daily from each of these addresses.
The ten finalists and their chosen non-profits will move on to the last round of the Champions of Care Challenge, where the following BIG prizes will be awarded:
• Grand Prize - $30,000 grant to be given to a community health non-profit
• Second Place Prize - $3,000 grant to be given to a community health non-profit
• Third Place Prize - $2,000 grant to be given to a community health non-profit
According to Founder and Volunteer CEO Jay Wojcik, "2013, was the first time Healthy Lombard ended its fiscal year in the black with a balance of $350. But the 2014 Fitness February Fair left us with a debt of $328. Winning even Third Place in the Health Mart Grant Challenge would help us become solvent and continue to make a difference in the health of Lombard's children and adults."
