NCH Offers Heart Health Screenings in February
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (January 30, 2014) – Northwest Community Healthcare (NCH) is offering inexpensive cardiac screenings in conjunction with Heart Awareness Month in February that will help residents increase their knowledge of their risk for heart disease. Because some heart conditions don't have symptoms, cardiac risk assessment is important to be able to detect problems early and take preventive measures to lower risk.
The “Know Your Numbers” cardiac screenings will take place throughout February at the Lake Zurich Immediate Care Center, 1201 S. Rand Road, and at the Schaumburg Immediate Care Center, 519 S. Roselle Road. For $20, attendees will take home their cholesterol, glucose, triglyceride levels and blood pressure numbers.
Appointments are available Monday through Friday. Payment is due at the time of registration. For accurate blood test results, the screening requires fasting for 12 hours in advance. Only water and prescribed medications are allowed to be taken. Space is limited, so registration is required by calling 847.618.4YOU (4968).
