Spring Valley offers winter nature programs for home school groups

Schaumburg Park District offers a variety of natural science and history programs specially designed for home school families at Spring Valley Nature Center and Heritage Farm, 1111 E. Schaumburg Road.

Winter offerings include Biscuits and Butter, a lesson in historic cooking held in the Heritage Farm's farmhouse kitchen. Kitchen Chemistry and Energy Sources are held in the Nature Center and explore basic concepts of chemistry and physics. Other program offerings include Winter Ecology, Conservation in Action and Owls: Predators of the Night.

Programs are offered on demand with reservations required at least two weeks in advance. Fees vary and require a minimum of ten participants for most programs.
