Suburban cheer and dance teams compete at Sears Centre event

Teams from around the suburbs competed Saturday during the largest event for the 2013/2014 cheer and dance season at the Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates.

IHSA Winter Meltdown Cheerleading and Dance Competition started at 7 a.m., with dance and cheer teams competing side by side in an alternating format in front of IHSA officials in a large scale venue.

The event was sponsored by Conant and Schaumburg high schools and was expected to draw up to 75 cheerleading teams and 75 dance teams.
