Accretive Helping Hands builds a home in Chicagoland

As a part of the company's commitment to philanthropic activities, Accretive Health employees founded an organization dedicated to charitable giving, with Accretive Health, Inc., providing an initial financial endowment. Accretive Helping Hands was launched in 2012 as an exciting new way for Accretive Health's 1,750 U.S. employees to extend their volunteerism. Most recently, Accretive Helping Hands volunteered at the Windy City Habitat for Humanity in Chicago, Ill.

Volunteers made the trip to Cicero, Ill., in November to help their local community and support Habitat for Humanity's mission to promote dignity and hope while supporting sustainable and transformational development. The 15 people who volunteered completed extensive interior work on the build in order to provide a means of shelter for those who did not previous have any.

“It was incredible to see coworkers coming together to help their community in such an impactful way,” said Bhavna Deole, an Accretive Health employee and a member of Accretive Helping Hands' junior board. “This is part of who we are as a company, and it is amazing to see so much generosity.”
