First Chicago Bank & Trust Groundbreaking Ceremony a Huge Success

First Chicago Bank & Trust recently held a Groundbreaking Ceremony on Friday, October 25 at 9 a.m. to kick off the construction of their new Mayfair office. The new facility will be constructed on vacant land located right next to the existing First Chicago Bank & Trust branch at 4343 N. Elston, Chicago, IL. Executives from Northbrook Bank & Trust, Alderman Margaret Laurino's office, the West Walker Community Association, Pulaski Elston Business Association (PEBA), Valenti Builders, and Myefski Architects, Inc. were invited.

The new one-story location will be similar in design to the First Chicago Bank & Trust Rogers Park location with prairie style architecture. It will fit well into the older homes in the surrounding West Walker, Mayfair, Avondale, Villa, and Old Irving Park communities. Additionally, the new location will be 4000 square feet and include a large community room available for events and educational seminars.

Construction is expected to begin for the new office early November 2013 with completion projected for late 2014. The existing First Chicago Bank & Trust will remain open during construction with the entire staff expected to transfer to the new facility when it opens next year. The normal hours of operation, Monday - Thursday: 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m., Friday: 8:30 a.m. -6 p.m., and Saturday: 9 a.m. -1 p.m. will remain the same.
