Library offers Cornucopia of Thanksgiving programs
Thanksgiving foods, crafts and home décor will be featured in upcoming programs at the Schaumburg Township District Library's Central location in Schaumburg, as well as its Hanover Park Branch. Registration is required for all of the following programs. To register, call (847) 923-3347.
For anyone looking for a new way to stuff a turkey, or for newcomers to the Thanksgiving dinner arena, Chef Lou Buchenot will present “Dressings for the Bird” from 7:30-9 p.m., Monday, Nov. 11 in the Rasmussen South Room of the Central Library in Schaumburg, 130 S. Roselle Rd. In addition to a cooking demonstration, recipes and tastings will be provided.
“Happy Harvest Ceramics” will provide participants with an outlet for their creativity from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 16 at the Hanover Park Branch Library, 1266 Irving Park Road. Design of this decorative autumn piece with dry-brush application will be taught by ceramics instructor Randy Skepnik. A $15 fee is required at time of registration.
A fresh and beautiful table decoration will be the featured creation in “Thanksgiving Centerpiece,” slated from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Monday, Nov. 25 in the Rasmussen South Room of the Central Library in Schaumburg. With the help of instructor Peggy Garvin of Garvin Gardens, attendees will craft a fresh flower centerpiece, complete with seasonal candle. Participants should bring pruners to class. A $17 fee is required at time of registration.
