NCH hosts seminar on treatment options for joint pain

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (October 8, 2013) – Suffering from joint pain in the knees and hips can be a daily occurrence for many people. As new treatment options emerge, it can be challenging to choose the right solution. To help individuals make informed decisions, Northwest Community Healthcare (NCH) is hosting a free educational seminar about joint pain and joint replacement options.

NCH's joint replacement seminar is Tuesday, Oct. 29, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the NCH auditorium at 800 W. Central Road in Arlington Heights. Accessible parking is available in the Visitor Garage at Entrance #4 on the east side of the hospital. Signs will direct visitors to the seminar.

Orthopedic surgeon Richard Mannion, MD, and experts in nursing will share information on the latest treatments and therapies for hip and knee pain, including joint replacement. Attendees also will learn about NCH's Fast Track program, which results in earlier hospital discharge, an accelerated recovery plan and a quicker return to pain-free living. A question-and-answer session will follow the seminar.

Come learn why NCH is on the leading edge of joint replacement. Registration is required by calling HealthConnection at 847.618.4YOU (4968) or visiting the hospital online at www.nch.org/jointpain. Refreshments will be served.
