Celebrate local parks at Schaumburg Park District.

The District will take part in Visit a Park Day on Oct. 4. The nationwide event, organized by the National Recreation and Park Association, encourages visits to local, state, regional and national parks to enjoy the many benefits of these outdoor locations.

Families are encouraged to visit Volkening Lake, 900 W. Schaumburg Road. Visitors can enjoy the fall air and scenic beauty including the lake, flowerbeds, Tribute Park and picnic area. The recreation space is great for exercise, relaxation, fishing, nature walks and bird watching.
