Dist. 211 offers many courses to adults

The opportunity to learn something new every day is still available for individuals looking to enroll in Palatine-Schaumburg High School District 211’s continuing education courses. Course are still available to community members and individuals who are 18 years or older.

The course catalog is available online for fall 2013 and offers a wide-range of courses that cater to individual’s interests and skill-building needs. Topics include foreign language, home improvement, fitness, personal enrichment and cooking. Enrollment is available up until four days before a course starts, and if seats are still available, same-day registration is allowed.

The courses are offered for a relatively low cost. Although the district advertises to community members, anyone can enroll. People over the age of 62 can apply for a District 211 Gold Card that allows them to receive discounted course fees.

Continuing education has been available to community members for more than 50 years, and continues to grow. Each year, there are different courses with different sections to accommodate different schedules.

Courses not only provide learning opportunities to the community, but also teaching opportunities for District 211 teachers in a classroom environment that is different from teaching high school students.
