Des Plaines preschool director named

The Des Plaines Park District has appointed Susan Poklop director of Creative Corners Terrific 3’s Preschool.

Poklop has a degree in elementary education and more than 10 years of experience teaching kindergarten in the public school system.

“I am looking forward to helping the children become comfortable and confident in our classroom, and make new friends. Our first unit will be all about apples, which will lead us into fall. I simply can’t wait to get started,” Poklop said.

A mother of three, she has lived in Palatine with her husband and sons, 14, 17 and 20. Her spare time is divided among sporting events, cooking, baking and reading.

“Susan is a perfect fit with our early education team,” said Karyn Roth, recreation supervisor. “Her teaching experiences will help promote the social, emotional and cognitive development of the children in our preschool classes.”
