Learn to Build a Successful Small Business with Tips from Nick Sarillo

Small business owners and those considering entrepreneurship are invited to hear from Nick Sarillo, founder and CEO of Nick's Pizza & Pub (Elgin & Crystal Lake) during “Building Business with Nick Sarillo” from 7-9 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 18 in the Rasmussen North Room of the Schaumburg Township District Library, 130 S. Roselle Rd., Schaumburg.

Nick's Pizza and Pub holds the title of the sixth busiest independent pizza company in per-store sales in the United States, with margins nearly twice that of the average pizza restaurant. Additionally, Nick's boasts an 80 percent employee retention rate in an industry with an average annual turnover of nearly 150 percent.

Sarillo credits his company's success to his purpose-driven culture, which is the focus of his book, A Slice of the Pie: How to Build a Big Little Business. Sarillo is often a speaker at business conferences and his insights have been featured in The New York Times, The Economist, Inc., Fast Company and Investor's Business Daily.
