Des Plaines Camera Club begins its 2013 season

Des Plaines Camera Club (DPCC) begins its 2013 season packed with a variety of programs including photographic presentations such as travel photography, education covering camera technique and process technique, competition in both print and digital formats as well as community activities.

The DPCC is a group of individuals who share an interest in photography. The club provides encouragement to members to expand their interests in photography in which they not only learn from one another, but also have an outlet for their creative interest. The club is a member of the Chicago Area Camera Clubs Association (CACCA) and enters monthly inter-club contest.

The first meeting will be on September 9, 2013. This meeting will cover an overview of the upcoming year, various business aspects and presentation of club member's summer activity photography.

September 23rd will be the first competition for members to submit their print and digital entries.

Save October 14 for a presentation by Ralph Velasco, travel photography instructor, author and international tour guide who has led tours around the world, including to Egypt, Spain, Mexico, Morocco, Chicago and San Francisco. He's also organized eight People-to-People programs to Cuba. Ralph is the author of the e-book on “Travel Photography” and just recently published his 2nd e-book called "Essence of a Place".

The Des Plaines Camera Club meets on the second and fourth Monday of each month September thru May. Meetings begin at 7:00 pm in the Des Plaines Park District Arndt Field House located at 1990 White Street in Des Plaines. Whatever level of interest in photography you have, all are cordially invited to attend a meeting.
