NCH hosts Cancer Survivors Day with Schaumburg Boomers
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (July 29, 2013) – Northwest Community Healthcare (NCH) is inviting cancer survivors to enjoy a night at the ballpark with the Schaumburg Boomers on August 16 to celebrate Cancer Survivors Day. NCH cancer survivors and their support teams will participate in special activities throughout the night.
Prior to the Boomers game against the Traverse City Beach Bums, NCH will lead an on-field parade at 6 p.m. for cancer survivors, their families and friends. Following the parade, ceremonial first pitches will be made by NCH cancer survivors. The game is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.
Participants in the parade are encouraged to come early, with gates opening at 5 p.m. at Schaumburg Boomers Stadium, 1999 South Springinsguth Road, in Schaumburg.
Throughout the game, NCH experts will be on hand with information and resources about the cancer care services and treatment options available at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights. Boomers players will wear pink jerseys during the game that will be auctioned off to benefit charity. Following the game, a fireworks show is scheduled and fans can run the bases.
